Football trip Paris Saint-Germain

Experience the pride and success of French soccer team Paris Saint-Germain on a football trip to Paris – and watch the awesome Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in action.

The club has played continuously in Ligue 1 ever since it was founded in 1970, following the merger of Paris FC and Stade Saint-Germain. But money from sole stakeholders Qatar Investment Authority has made it the richest club in France – and one of the richest in the world. Noblesse oblige isn’t French for nothing: the crest and shirt of Les Parisiens was designed by Daniel Hechter – suitably fitting for the richest club in France and one of the best football teams in the world.

Experience this international sensation during your football break to watch Paris Saint-Germain. Enjoy watching the big names play, taste the atmosphere of the Parc de Princes stadium, and sing along to the club’s anthem Allez Paris Saint-Germain to the tune of Go West by the Pet Shop Boys.

The city is also the home base of well-known luxury brands such as Hermes, Dior and Chanel.

The Parc des Princes stadium

Feel the magnificence of Parc des Princes stadium on a football trip to Paris. This stadium was built especially so the city would have a suitable venue for football and rugby matches. It replaced the Velodrome which was built on this site in 1897 and renowned as the official finish line for the Tour de France. Parc des Princes was officially opened on 4 June 1972 by French president Georges Pompidou – and a year later became the home ground of the then young Paris Saint-Germain club.

Designed for ‘comfort’ and ‘visibility’ by Roger Taillibert, the stadium was widely praised at the opening and the architect received several awards for his avant-garde masterpiece. Parc de Princes will host UEFA Euro 2016.
