Arsenal – Emirates Stadium

Construction of the Emirates Stadium began in 2004 on an industrial estate in Ashburton Grove. After 2 years, the construction of the stadium was completed and Arsenal moved from their former home "Highbury" to the Emirates Stadium. The first match in the stadium took place on July 22, 2006, this was the farewell match of Dennis Bergkamp in which Arsenal faced Ajax. Arsenal immediately broke a record in the first year the club played at the Emirates. The number of spectators in the 2006/07 season was on average more than 59,000 per match, a record in the Premier League.
