Etihad Stadium

Manchester City – Etihad Stadium

The construction of the Etihad Stadium, also known as the City of Manchester Stadium, started in 1999 and was completed in 2003. Initially the stadium was built for the "Commonwealth games" sporting event. After this event, the Etihad Stadium was converted into a football stadium, increasing the capacity from 38,000 to 48,000. The stadium is currently being used by the current Premier League champion: Manchester City. The stadium currently has room for more than 54,000 spectators, the name "Etihad" owes the stadium to a sponsorship deal with Etihad Airways.
