Schalke 04 – Veltins Arena

The Veltins Arena is located in Gelsenkirchen and is the stadium of football club Schalke 04. The stadium was built between 1998 and 2001 and cost a total of € 191 million! The name of the stadium "Veltins Arena" owes it to a sponsorship deal with the German brewer Veltins. The Stadium of Schalke 04 is regularly used for playing large matches, for example 5 matches were played during the 2006 World Cup, and the 2004 Champions League final was also played in the Veltins Arena. In addition to football, other events also take place in the stadium, such as concerts and ice hockey matches.
