2. PARIS FC (LIGUE 2)
Paris FC is a football club playing in Stade Charléty, located south of the centre of Paris. Paris FC was founded in 1969 and later merged with Stade Saint-Germain to become Paris Saint-Germain. The current Paris FC was created by those who turned away from becoming the current Paris Saint-Germain. The best performance of the club is winning the championship of the Championnat de France (the fourth division) in 2006. The last time Paris FC played in League 1 was in the 1978-79 season. Before the merge, Paris FC was the most popular club from Paris with more than 20.000 members. Nowadays, 500 to 1000 fans of Paris FC are present at their home games.
3. RED STAR FOOTBALL CLUB (CHAMPIONNAT NATIONAL)
Red Star FC plays in the Stade Bauer, located north of the centre of Paris. The Stade Bauer is a gem for lovers of old school stadium with old pitches. Despite the long history as a semi-professional club, Red Star has a rich history. Red Star was founded in 1897 and is the oldest French club after Le Havre (founded in 1872). Red Star is one of the clubs that formed the basis of the Ligue 1 and played 19 seasons at the highest level. The last time the club played in Ligue 1 was in 1975. The club has won the Coupe de France a total of 5 times (the last time in 1942).
